J.C. Brae – Changing Perspective

They say, “look into someone’s eyes and you will see their soul”, that is where you will also see their passion. The Soul is your true passion! Finding my soul, made me have a change of perspective when it came to my music career. What I had been chasing in my music, was staring at me, looking at me through my eyes and in too my soul.

I needed to write!

Once I decided to harness my passion for writing, it all started to flow. Creating a library of lyrics, music and hope for the future is what it is all about now!

Changing perspective brings hope, brings a promising future, and brings inspiration! I look forward to, one day, having my music recorded by artists who are just as passionate about sharing real stories through music as I am.

J.C. Brae – Getting Creative

I’ve always loved writing poetry and music; it is like an extension of my heart. Putting your heart into song leaves you open to interpretation and vulnerability to the listener. Being able to do that and put pen to paper, allows me to pour my heart out there for everyone to hear and feel.

I have always loved having an emotional affect on people with the words I sing; being my creative self, allows me to extend insight of my personal journey in life, and in my music career.

Just like I am writing this to all of you!

I am currently writing new music; be creative and keep moving forward in a positive way and pass along great intentions and good vibes.

J.C. Brae – Northern Ontario Country Music Community

There has been a lot of musical talent that has come from Northern Ontario; Shania Twain, Stompin’ Tom Connors, Gil Grand, and Jake Matthews just to name a few.

There are many concerts that come to my hometown of Sudbury, Ontario. We have multiple venue’s for local talent and band circuits. It’s a diverse crowd here and many genre’s to choose from as well.

Northern Ontario is a great location to visit and check out the local “arts” scene; for an area that is supported by the mining industry, you will be amazed at just how creative this place can be.

Maybe that is why some great talent has come from Northern Ontario; blue collar, hard working people, who have generations of stories to share. Their stories come out in their music; good story telling music.

J.C. Brae – Karaoke Circuit

From the ages of 19 to 35, I sang with bands, but could not seem to find members who wanted to play all the time. I wanted to sing more and more, so instead I entered the Karaoke scene.

I made a lot of friends and fans through Karaoke; I know it helped me to keep working on my craft. To sing all my favorites and to hear everyone sing along, brought such joy into my life.

I know musicians out there, are not the biggest fans of Karaoke, but it was the easiest way for me to be proactive without having to find space to jam in, plus trying to gather the band to practice. The industry is unique.

The contests I entered in this setting were fun and I was able to play with my voice and truly find my “pocket”. I owe a great deal to Karaoke for helping me master my craft.

J.C. Brae – Northern Roots

I was born in a blue collar mining town, in a city called Sudbury, which is located in Northern Ontario, Canada.

The population in Sudbury, is approximately 230,000. The main industry in Sudbury is nickle mining; Sudbury being built on a crater is the richness of nickle ore.

I had the opportunity, as a kid, to also live in Calgary, Alberta; I find having had the opportunity to live in more than one community, gave me the ability to be a person who can adjust easily. I am grateful for having had this opportunity.

The City of Sudbury is a friendly city, where people wave at you, as if they know you, when in fact they don’t. I suppose it is the Northern way of life.

The Winters are very cold and long in Sudbury; the Summers are very hot and humid. Sudbury is surrounded by lakes, so in the Summer, guess where all the people are? You guessed it! Anywhere to cool off!

In general, Sudbury is a great place to raise a family, there is endless opportunities, and no matter if you move away, you will always find your way back to Sudbury!
